MADISON - Nearly everyone with a confirmed case of coronavirus in a Wisconsin prison has recovered, the state's corrections agency said Monday. 

Of the 268 inmates who tested positive, 261 have recovered. Sixty-three of the 66 prison workers who tested positive in recent months also have recovered, according to the state Department of Corrections. 

The vast majority of cases among inmates were in Waupun Correctional Institution, where 228 people tested positive.

The DOC released the data Monday after conducting more than 12,000 tests since May 12. By last week, the Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin National Guard tested everyone at 22 of the state's 37 facilities, the agency said. 

Oshkosh Correctional Facility conducted the most tests at 2,013. Nine people discovered they had the virus as a result.
