UTV Update:  After numerous emails we decided to contact John Schweitzer about UTV's on Jackson County Trails.  He responded right away and addressed issues that have been raised.  Schweitzer stated that for nearly 5 years the budget for trail maintenance was under funded by $15,000.00.  For the 2011-2012 budget year the D.N.R. plans to release more funds that will eliminate these shortfalls.  UTV registration will add to this proposed increase but that number will not be know until the end of 2010 Schweitzer said.  There also needs to be some trail improvements to accommodate the wider machine but should be accomplished by May 15, the proposed date for UTV's on the trail.

Jackson County has some of the most popular ATV trails in the Midwest. Over 100 miles of trails wind through the scenic Black River State Forest and Jackson County Forest. All trails are clearly marked. No "off-trail" riding is permitted in Jackson County.

Parking lots for trail access are located at the following areas
