In one of the more unique photographs, we're treated to a "birds eye view" of Millston. In addition to the view of the chapel and general store, some of the lush forest is visible in the background.

These two happy couples sit on Castle Mound looking into the Black River State Forest. One of the many unique geological formations in the county, Castle Mound can be visited after a short hike, and provides a panoramic view in all directions.

Here we see a Civil War solider, who was able to survive the fighting. Notice that he is wearing the long bushy beard popular at the time.

Black River Falls has always been proud to call itself the Deer Capital of Wisconsin, and this photograph shows why. These hunters, standing a few miles west of the actual city of Black River Falls have killed enough deer to get them through the long winter.

  	At the intersection of two rough dirt roads (present-day Highways X and C) lies the Disco Store, one of the many country stores that could be found throughout the Jackson County of yesteryear.

  	In a scenic winter landscape, we see a Christmas photograph of the Fallhall Glen Resort. This was a popular summer and winter getaway, with many cabins available for renting.

  	In front of the shed on her small farm, a farm woman stands showing off one of the families bulls. Up before the men to make breakfast, and in bed late at night, the life of a farm woman was filled with day after day of hard, backbreaking work.

Franklin Home
  	 Seated and standing in this picture are the Civil War Veterans of the area, part of a group called GAR. While many survived this horrific war, many men from the area were killed in battle.

One of the more recent pictures on this page, this shows a farm family standing outside their two story farmhouse. With several buildings full of equipment and feed, the last few years appear to have been good for this family.
