William "Bill" L. Conradson, 83, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls. Private graveside services will be held at Shamrock Union Cemetery. Reverend Terry Marg will be officiating. Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nathan J. Garber, 24 of Warrens, died on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home. A Funeral Service will be will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 11:00 A.M. at Bible Ev. Free Church, 625 W. Veterans St., Tomah. Pastor Timothy J. Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens, WI. Ervin J. Hestekin, 97, of rural Independence, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Heritage Court in Eau Claire. Ervin was born November 11, 1917 in Buffalo County, to Elmer and Josephine (Engum) Hestekin. He married Evangeline Kolve September 7, 1940 in Mondovi, Wis.The couple farmed in Trempealeau County for 15 years and then purchased his father's farm in Buffalo County in 1955. They farmed there until 1988 and purchased a hobby farm in rural Independence but continued to help out on the "home farm" where his son is currently farming.Ervin was a past member on the Gilmanton School Board and a certified tax assessor for Dover Township. He was a longtime member of N.F.O.He was a member of Lookout Lutheran Church where he was active and held various offices in the church and cemetery.He enjoyed his cars, machinery and red tractors. He was always willing to help others!Ervin is survived by his wife, Evangeline of Independence; nine children, Rodney (Betty) Hestekin of Wyoming, Minn., Audrey (Galen) Aase of Mondovi, Warren (Pat) Hestekin of Sugar Grove, Ill., Larry Hestekin of Independence, Wayne (Kathy) Hestekin of Pigeon Falls, Carol Hollister of Eau Claire, Diane (Robert) Konkel of Arcadia, Dean (Jill) Hestekin of Independence and Dale (Carolyn) Hestekin of Hixton; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Violet Hestekin of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews.Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; grandchildren, Jennifer Hestekin and Jason Hollister; a great-grandchild, Brianna Hestekin; brother-in-law, Lloyd Kolve; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton (Arlene) Engum and Galvin (Thelma) Kolve.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Lookout Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi, with Rev. Don Bakken officiating. The Honorable Gerald William Laabs, 71, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 1, 1944, to Harold and Martha (Hermansen) Laabs in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Jerry was raised in Curtiss and later graduated from Tomah High School in 1962. He was a University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse graduate in 1966 and earned his law degree at the University of Wisconsin Law School- Madison in 1969. Jerry was an attorney in Black River Falls for thirty-three years. From 2002 until 2008, he acted as the Jackson County Circuit Court Judge.Jerry married the love of his life, Nancy (German) Laabs, on July 3, 1972 in Black River Falls. Together, they had two sons; Marc and Jay, of whom he was very proud. Jerry was an avid Badger fan and he enjoyed history and playing golf. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons: Marc (Amy) Laabs of Schererville, IN and Jay (Katherine) Laabs of Winnetka, IL; and his grandchildren: Elizabeth, Andrew, Beckett, William, and Baby Laabs on the way any day.Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; Harold and Martha, and his brother Harold W.
