She was born on June 28, 1931 in Arcadia, WI to Emil and Eleanor Wolfe. Alta graduated from Arcadia High School in 1949 where special friends knew her as "Onions". She married Ephraim in 1950. They worked the family farm in Independence, WI for many years, where they raised four children.
Her lesson to her children was "You can’t get ahead by staying behind". She was always a hard worker who loved having projects. As a farmer, she drove tractor, raised animals, and had a huge garden. She loved sewing for her family and friends. We want to thank all the people that supplied her with sewing projects. She loved going for her long walks; listening, singing and dancing to country music; and most of all, spending time with her family. She taught her children "There is joy in good work".
