Paul Walske, 76, of Galesville/Arcadia died at his home on Sunday, April 17, 2016.
Paul was born on January 28, 1940, in Arcadia to Sigmund and Lenore (McWeeny) Walski.Paul graduated from Healy Memorial High School in Trempealeau and served in the United States Air Force. He had been a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Paul farmed in rural Arcadia.Paul is survived by three brothers: Richard (Arleen) Walski of Trempealeau, Tony (Rose) Walske of Richfield, MN, and Henry (Toni) Walski of Cottage Grove, WI; five nieces and several great nieces and nephews; special friends: Rollie, Heidi, Robert and Gregory Kube. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Elizabeth Peterson and stillborn twin sisters.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on, Saturday April 30 ,2016, at 2:00 PM atHoly Family Parish with Rev. Dorothy M. Ryan, 86, of Independence, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.
Dorothy was born April 1, 1930 in Elk Creek to Lawrence and Mary (Browskowski) Marsolek. She grew up on a farm on Montana Ridge in Buffalo County. She married Jesse Ryan on July 18, 1959 in Mondovi. He died November 1, 1991.Dorothy worked at Gopher Glove in Independence for many years until retirement in her 70's. She enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, fishing and her dogs.Survivors include four children, Rita Severson of Eleva, Ernie (Sandy) Ryan of La Crosse, Janice (Rick) Rombalski of Independence and Gerry Ryan of Trempealeau; nine grandchildren, Travis (Leanne), Troy (Wendy), Jessica, Andy (Carrie), Shelby, Hali, Carly, Shyanne and Shaysie; seven great-grandchildren, Kari, Mel, Ryan, Abbey, Eli, Camden and Hunter; sister, Elaine (Larry) Johnson of Pigeon Falls; special friend Irene Helgeson.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Helen Wiersgalla.Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with Rev. Richard J. Klonecki, 78, of Arcadia died on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home. Richard was born on August 8, 1937, in Arcadia to Clifford and Leona (Kriebich) Klonecki.
Richard married Alvera "Ellie" Dahl on May 23, 1960, in St. Charles, MN. Richard received his GED and an Associate's Degree in Diesel Trac Mechanics in Military School. Richard attended NCO Academy at Fort Sill, OK and Senior NCO Academy at Bethesda, MD. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1981, retiring from military duty as a SFC. After his military retirement he worked at Ashley Furniture Industries for 15 years. He was a member of the Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17, where he served as Commander and Past Commander; Viet Nam Veterans; and was a member of the 40/8.Richard is survived by his wife: Ellie of Arcadia; 1 daughter: La Vonne (Keith Neitzel) Klonecki, of Arcadia; 2 sons: Lonnie (Deb) Klonecki and Lorne Klonecki both of Arcadia; 6 grandchildren: Erica, Alissa, Amanda, Asa, Evan and Dustin; great granddaughter: Emmelia Rose; 2 brothers: Roger (Sharon) Klonecki of Greenfield, WI, Gary (Ina) Klonecki of Whitehall; 3 sisters: Betty (Louie) Christopherson of Melrose, Ann (Harold Radtke) Floyd of Rochester, Donna (Les) Allen of Onalaska; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
