Joyce E. Spence, 83, of Tomah, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Serenity House. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at the Tomah Baptist Church. Pastor Ronald J. Tobin will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Theresa R. Ryan, 82, of Whitehall, formerly of Independence, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center, Whitehall with her three daughters by her side. Theresa was born February 9, 1933 in Plum Creek, rural Independence, to William and Mary (Pierzina) Jurowski. She married Elmer J. Ryan Jr. on October 1, 1952 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, North Creek. He died June 7, 2015.Theresa worked as a nanny for the Schank family and various other families. She farmed along with her husband in Lincoln Township until retirement in 2000 when they moved to Independence. She continued doing things she enjoyed to help others such as cleaning, painting, babysitting and socializing with others in their homes.She enjoyed fishing, gardening, lawn work and going for rides with Elmer and stopping somewhere for lunch and coffee. She took pride in her family, cleaning, cooking and baking. Her enjoyment was putting a smile on the faces of others!Theresa was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Whitehall where she was known for making her coffee cakes for their fall festival.Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca (Roger) Bautch of Whitehall, Rita (David) Hovey of Independence and Audrey (special friend, David Grulkowski) Haas of Whitehall; brother, Richard (Margaret) Jurowski of Whitehall and Adeline Dabelstein of Arcadia; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Tiffany) and John (Kylee) Bautch, Sarah (Paul) Engstrand, Kevin (Beth) Hovey, Stephanie (fiancé, Jake Edwards) Maug, Ryan and Hayley Haas; eight great-grandchildren, Bentley, Zoey, Mason and Maverick Bautch, Emily, Rachael and Soren Hovey and Ayla Edwards.She was preceded in death by her husband and brother-in-law, Richard Dabelstein.Funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, with Very Rev. Woodrow H. Pace officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Lincoln Cemetery, Whitehall.Visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.Online condolences may be offered at family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Gundersen Tri-County Care Center for their care of Elmer and Theresa Ryan for the last nine and a half years.
Roy R. Rasch, 88 of Tomah died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Serenity House, Tomah. Karen “Rhoda” R. Berger, age 71, of rural Ettrick, died on Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the church and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
      Gary J. Doelle, 71, of Fountain City, WI died on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. He was born on May 28, 1944, in Arcadia to Joseph and Phyllis (Forsythe) Doelle. Gary married Kay Pronschinske on September 20, 1969, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia.      Gary farmed in the township of Glencoe. He was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Gary’s interest include: deer hunting, “Late Model/Modified car racing for 29 years” on a dirt track, motorcycling, and snowmobiling. He had been a member of the Glencoe Drifters Snowmobile Club. He loved heavy equipment and was very gifted with his mechanical skills.      Gary is survived by his wife: Kay of Fountain City; son: John (Carla) Doelle of Arcadia; daughter: Jan Doelle of Fountain City; 2 brothers: Don (Lynn) Doelle and Dave (Annette) Doelle both of Fountain City; 2 sisters: Darlene (Kenny) Frie of Arcadia, Mary (Ron) Bakke of Aurora, CO; 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Joseph in infancy.       Friends may call on Sunday, August 16, 2015, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 4:00 PM Prayer Service with Rev. Sebastian Kolodzieczyk. A Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 PM at the Glencoe Town Hall, W104 Hwy 95, Arcadia, WI.
