Mildred A. Rogstad

Mildred A. Rogstad, age 92, of Black River Falls, WI and formerly of Taylor, WI died Monday, October 13, 2014 in the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls where she had resided for the past 19-months.

Martin and Agnes (Johnson) Thomley. She graduated from Whitehall High School.

On February 1, 1943, she married Julian Rogstad.

The couple farmed for many years in the Town of Albion. Mildred also worked as a sorter for 24-years at the former Norplex Fabricating Company in Black River Falls.

She enjoyed animals, doing crossword puzzles and embroidery, and watching and feeding birds.

Surviving are her 2-sons, William (Barbara) Rogstad, Taylor, and Dean (Faye) Rogstad, Black River Falls, 4-sisters, Edna (Wilmer) Dahl, Osseo, WI, Jeanette (Hensel) Gilbertson, Whitehall, WI, Norma (Lavern) Granlund, Janesville, WI, and Delores Greathouse, Indianapolis, IN, 12-grandchildren, 22-great grandchildren, and 2-great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian, on September 23, 2000, her parents, 2-sons, Lloyd and Milton, and an infant son, and 2-brothers, Orlin and David.

Funeral services for Mildred A. Rogstad will be at 11 A. M. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Squaw Creek Lutheran Church, County Highway P. Services will be conducted by Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson and burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton (715-963-2311) on Wednesday from 5 until 7 P. M. and at the church on Thursday from 10 A. M. until the time of services.

Memorials may be given to either the Jackson County Interfaith Caregivers or to Black River Memorial Hospice.

Andrew G. Hanson, 21, of Omro, WI/formerly of Melrose, WI, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 in Oshkosh, WI.

Shirley Jo (Lankford) Witt

Shirley Jo (Lankford) Witt, 79, of Kendall, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Touch of Home in Tomah.

Adolph F. Borufka Jr.

Adolph F. Borufka Jr. 90, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2014 at Cameo Care Center, Milwaukee. Formally of Black River Falls Adolph was born to Adolph Sr. and Kathryn Borufka.


Adolph proudly served our country in the US Army for over 3 years as an Armament Parts Clerk. Adolph owned a car dealership in Black River Falls until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Black River Falls Hockey Team. Adolph loved to travel to Panama City where he lived and enjoyed precious time with family and friends.


Adolph is survived by Robert Borufka, Lorraine Ellis, Laurie Maduscha and Allen Evans.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Borufka.


A memorial service will be held at 11:30 on October 16th, 2014 at The Cotton Exchange 345 Hickory Hollow Rd, Waterford (in the Plantation Room). Family and friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11:30. Immediately following the service there will be a celebration luncheon to honor Adolph.


After the luncheon there will be a burial at Hillside Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Legion Local Post 20, who will be preforming Military Honors for Adolph.
