Marian K. Johnson, 98, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2015, in the Family Heritage Care Center, Black River Falls, WI. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 22, 2015, 10:30 a.m., at Torgerson Funeral Home, Black River Falls.  Chaplain Kevin Newell will be officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls. Cliff M. Travis, 38, of Sparta, died Friday, May 15, 2015 as a result of a logging accident near Rockland.        A graveside service will be held Saturday at 12 noon in Cataract Cemetery, Cataract, with Jeff Burrows officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Travis-Bonner and Bryer Gebhardt. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to Shelter #3 at the Cataract Sportsman Club for a light meal and a celebration of Cliff's life. Herbert "Herb" Roy Comstock, 74,  passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015. A celebration of life for Herb Comstock will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 4 to 9 pm, with a short service at 5:30pm, at the Lake Eau Claire County Park near Augusta. A picnic lunch will follow.
Bernice I. Bever, 88, of Tomah, died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Serenity House.  She was born on December 13, 1926            to Albert and Erma (Pasch) Newlun, at Southridge.    A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, 10:30 A.M., at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah.  Bishop Robert Flock Will officiate and Monsignor Richard Gilles will concelebrate.   Relatives and friends are invited to call at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, Tomah on Thursday, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Friday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.  A prayer service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. George A Klingelhoets, 88, formerly of Tripoli , WI , died Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Black River Falls , WI .  George was born in Turtle Lake , WI on August 25, 1926 to August and Theresa (Minnichsoffer) Klingelhoets. On June 26, 1947 George was united in marriage to Marjorie Tricker at St. Ann ’s Catholic Church in Turtle Lake . She preceded him in death in 2004. George graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1949 and later earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. His entire career was as an educator, administrator, and guidance counselor. He taught in Northwood , ND ; Fish Creek , WI ; and served for most of his career at the Tripoli and Prentice, WI school districts. He enjoyed teaching especially the interactions with his students. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and never passed up the chance to be out in the woods or on a lake. He was active in the Tripoli-Brantwood Lions Club and the Tripoli Volunteer Fire Department. He was a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk. George is survived by two sons, William (Judy Olmanson) of Fairchild, WI and Thomas (Gale) of Estill Springs, TN. He is further survived by three grandsons and three great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother along with his wife of 57 years, Marjorie. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped care for George over the past few years: Dr Cameron, at the Krohn Clinic, the staff at Pine View Terrace and Pine View Care Center , and to the staff at Black River Memorial Hospice. Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fairview, rural Fairchild, WI. Burial will be at a later date in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Turtle Lake, WI. Friends may call 1 hour before services Sunday at the church. Roger A. Peterson, age 70, of Whitehall, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Whitehall.  Burial will be in the Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall.
