The Plan Commission met at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on June 29, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. Commissioners Danielson, D. Johnson, Helland, Boisen, Tamminen, Moe and G. Johnson were present.
- Mayor Danielson opened the public hearing relative to the request by Robert Hart for a conditional use permit to construct a self-support communication tower of up to 250’ at 600 Old Highway 54 as published.
- Shane Begley of Begley Wireless Consulting Services, LLC represented Mr. Hart. He explained the tower location on an 80’ x 80’ leased land area, galvanized with dual lighting. The final height of the tower will be set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
- County Board Chairperson Dennis Eberhardt was in attendance. He was not in opposition to the project but wanted to be sure it did not conflict with anything including the Black River Area Airport.
- It was moved by Commissioner D. Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Boisen to grant Robert Hart a conditional use permit for a communications tower with a maximum height of 250’ subject to FAA regulations. Motion carried.
- Mayor Danielson opened the public hearing relative to the request by St. John’s Lutheran Church for a conditional use permit to construct a parking lot on the south side of the west end of Crestwood Street for an anticipated new church.
- Pete Schmidt represented the church stating the new lot would be for overflow parking with its only access off Crestwood Street.
- Al Hostrawser, who lives directly across from the proposed parking lot, requested that the church improve the street and construct curb and gutter to match the cul-de-sac portion on his side of the street.
- It was moved by Commission Moe, seconded by Commission G. Johnson to grant St. John’s Lutheran Church a conditional use permit for a parking lot as published with the condition of the church completing the cul-de-sac described above in conjunction with building the church. Motion carried.
- It was moved by Commissioner Tamminen, seconded by Commissioner D. Johnson to adjourn. Motion carried.
