The Committee of the Whole met at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on January 18, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. Alderpersons Olson, J. Eddy, Gearing-Lancaster, Chojnacki, Johnson, Herman, R. Eddy and Rahmlow were present. Mayor Danielson presided.
1. Cynthia Mathews, a resident of the city, provided information concerning dextromethorphan, an active ingredient found in many cough medications. Large doses of cough medicine containing this ingredient produces a “high.” She is requesting that the city adopt an ordinance restricting access to this product. The City Attorney will be contacted to present the City’s options at the February 1, 2012 council meeting.
2. The Department Heads presented their monthly reports.3. It was moved by Alderperson Rahmlow, seconded by Alderperson Johnson to approve the 2012 Fire Department officer appointments as follows:
1st Assistant Chief Darren Vase
2nd Assistant Chief Jody Stoker
3rd Assistant Chief Mark Nordahl
1st Captain Justin Jessop
2nd Captain Jennifer Amundson
3rd Captain Collin Carriere
4. It was moved by Alderperson Chojnacki, seconded by Alderperson J. Eddy to adjourn. Motion carried.
